Spiritual people who are into yoga and meditation practices?

July 28th, 2009 · 10 Comments

daisy322_98 asked:

I do a lot of yoga and I meditate to fall asleep every night to prevent nightmares. Ever since I have done so my nightmares have gotten worse. I dream every night about killings, murderers, and kid serial killers. Many times it is me and people who I seem to know in my dreams but do not know in this lifetime. What should I do to prevent these bad dreams? Or is my dreams trying to tell me something?

See no evil, means STOP watching scary television. The afterlife is a 6 minute dream and we make what it consists of.

Dreams are sometimes just dreams but most often it is the subconscious trying to work out the problems you are overloaded with during the day. You may want to try lucid dreaming to help confront the problems and resolve them.

I get like this if I have been watching mystery/crime TV shows before bed. I stopped doing that so I don’t really think about it any more.
Also, I find when I remember having lots of dreams while I was sleeping that it usually means I wasn’t sleeping very well. For me, that means no high doses of caffeine at all, even in the morning, as I am pretty sensitive to it.

I am not really sure what could be causing your nightmares. You might want to look into Taoist practices which can include meditation but is not limited to it. I have been doing a dream-time practice that gives me wonderful dreams and I am able to realize it’s a dream much easier so that I may control my lucid dreams. Again, I do not know the cause of your troubling dreams but I have a feeling that a Taoist cultivation practice you could do before sleep would help you very much. If you want more information or help finding a Taoist master who you can learn from feel free to email me from my profile.

You might want to read up on other people’s experiences and see how they cope with dreams:

    Hello Star

Meditation before sleep will not stop nightmares, maybe you should meditate earlier.

Your dreams are a form of subconscious communication, so yes your mind is talking to you. It could also be happening as you are trying to prevent them, there fore focusing on them, thus bad dreams happen.

In the Buddhist belief, it’s possible you had some relationship in these instances in your past lives. You might be the victim or the killer, being killed or killing a fellow person connected to you. For example, in one life, if you were murdered by a killer Jane, you killed Jane and her friend John in the next life in revenge. In another life years later, John killed you in revenge.

Perhaps you already read the following book:
Roy Stemman – One Soul, Many Lives: First Hand Stories Of Reincarnation And The Striking Evidence Of Past Lives

Perhaps if you can find a hypnotist who specializes in past lives, you may know what your roles were.

The Zhuan Falun book on the web breifly discusses the dream state. The book also discusses karma and reincarnation. Falun Gong is a unique Buddhist school, teaching an ancient practice for the mind, body, and spirit, based upon the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. Falun Gong consists of five sets of powerful exercises.

Falun Gong, Tibetans, other Buddhists, and Christians have been persecuted in China. The most offensive human right violation is the organ harvesting from the Falun Gong practitioners in China. Can you kindly sign a petition to stop persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, please ?
